CORE Information Management Systems Ltd [CORE IMS] was founded in 2001, and is one of the leaders in the field of routine outcome measurement in psychological therapy services.

A Potted History

With 20 years of ongoing evolution, our mature and proven systems offer the flexibility to capture changing datasets and measurement tools that work for your clients, stakeholders and commissioners.

We offer our customers the functionality they need to deliver their service's processes and the configuration options to adapt as those processes change over time.

We take pride in the long-standing trusted relationships we build with our customers, and we find new customers often join us after peer-to-peer recommendations from experienced users.

Sensitive to the resources available to the sector, we aim to offer best value to our customers by focussing our team skills on meeting the needs of our customers.

Our first-generation software product was CORE-PC, a system designed to provide low-cost support to help collate CORE System data for routine reporting for managers and funders.

In 2006, inspired by development in outcomes management in the United States, we launched CORE Net as our second generation product which provided a cloud-based system designed to facilitate routine upgrade processes, and the rapid evolution of national policy development influenced by the NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme.

In 2017 we added functionality to automate SMS appointment reminders to help address national policy drivers that required greater efficiency through reduced unattended appointments.

Here are some interesting facts about CORE Net . . .

Originally piloted in 2007, CORE Net is a mature system that’s stood the test of time and proved popular across the breadth of service sectors delivering psychological therapies.

Like the CORE System which it was originally designed to support, CORE Net features and functions are designed and evolved by services specifying the support needed to deliver both established service processes and respond to national challenges like the recent Covid lockdowns.

Whilst CORE Net was originally designed to support user of CORE System measures, today it supports a wide array of common measurement tools designed to assess specific presentations or be optimal for specific service populations.

It remains rare for our customers across service sectors to find better products because as a responsive provider we have well-established and cost-efficient processes to expand CORE Net functionality by either adding existing configuration or committing to bespoke customisation to meet unique needs.

We take pride in new customers coming to us through peer-to-peer recommendations which helps us maintain our policy of responsive consultation rather than sales-oriented marketing.

Focussing our team skills on the essential support needs of our customers helps us maintain pricing structures that are sensitive to the resources available to the sector and attempt to represent best value relative to alternative providers

Data Security

CORE IMS Ltd received formal accreditation to ISO27001 from BSI (the British Standards Institute) in January 2011.

As part of ISO/IEC 27001 we are regularly audited by BSI to make sure that information security protocols are being followed properly and that we continue to exceed the standards that are required.

All data is hosted in business grade datacentres within the UK. Our technology partners hold ISO/IEC 27001 or equivalent accreditations.

We have been working with NHS (i.e., IAPT, Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Care) services across the UK since 2001. In 2006, we developed and deployed the first set of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for counselling and psychological therapy services, and published KPI benchmarks for UK NHS primary care.

Over the years CORE IMS have developed strong links with a range of research-oriented clinics across Europe. In Portugal we’re working with colleagues to explore the blending of nomothetic and idiographic tools in family therapy. In Denmark we’ve using the ORS/SRS measurement combination with a large specialist service supporting children and young adult affected by their parents’ alcohol use. In Norway and Sweden, we are working with a range of hospitals and have recently forged links with the NORSE Team who are a team of academic researchers, practicing clinicians, technology and implementation specialists who have developed an innovative clinical feedback tool designed and optimised to work on digital platforms. Additionally, we work with the Health Service Executive deploying CORE Net across Primary Care Counselling and Childhood Trauma services throughout the Republic of Ireland.
